This was a good night for a time trial, warm with fairly low air pressure if perhaps a bit too much of a north wind. This was only the second CycleFit Chicks 15km time trial in 2011, and the weather at the previous one had slightly higher air pressure but considerably less wind. The two of us who rode both were a little slower tonight than on our first attempt, though Celia had the excuse of being under the weather with a bad cold and ear infection. As for the other women, every one of the ten who had ridden a previous 10km CFCTT in 2011 improved her speed, despite the longer distance, and nine of those increased their cube speed by more than 15%! In fact Kim Faulkner and Vie Babikian both exceeded a 50% improvement in their cube speed with their performance rations of 1.5877 and 1.5158, respectively! WOW!!! Note that we measure performance in terms of the cube speed since it is a reasonable measure of power.
